This
summer, the staff of NCLTAH and NCLRH joined forces
to raise money for the Salvation Army “Kidz
2 Kamp Program”. I am pleased to announce that
the staff and visitors raised $2,686.40 resulting
from a bake sale and raffle drawing. To recognize
the commitment to supporting the Salvation Army the
hospital matched and contributed additional funds
for a grand total donation of $7,872.80. Major Stephen
Slater and his wife Ann, visited our hospital to
receive the donation, pictured above. Thank you to
all of those that contributed to this year’s
fund raising efforts!

- Front Range Community College Students
Tour Campus
On January 29, 2010, Healthcare Foundation students from Front Range
Community College toured Northern Colorado Long Term Acute and Northern
Colorado Rehabilitation hospitals. These students are in a nine month
program to give them a foundational education in 14 different health
care careers such as Nurses, Certified Nurse Assistants, or Medical
Assistants.
Approximately
80 students toured the 40 bed inpatient rehabilitation
facility, the 5,000 square foot therapy gym and the 20 bed long
term acute hospital. Students were enthusiastic to see
an interdisciplinary
approach applied in treating patients who have suffered a stroke,
traumatic brain injury, significant illness, or are recovering
from orthopedic surgery. Many of these students will
use this program
as a stepping stone into a medical field. In addition to the tour,
they received teaching from the nursing leadership on-site.
Northern Colorado Long Term Acute and Northern Colorado Rehabilitation
hospitals are owned and operated by Ernest Health, Inc. For the third
consecutive year, Northern Colorado Rehabilitation Hospital has been
ranked in the Top 10% of 813 inpatient rehabilitation facilities
by the UDSMR.
Students pose for a picture
after the tour.
Someday, we may see them working here!

- The Northern Colorado Rehabilitation Hospital
and the Northern Colorado Long Term
Two Specialty Hospitals; One Acute Care Campus
The Northern Colorado Rehabilitation Hospital and the Northern Colorado Long
Term Acute Hospital are located on the acute care campus located just east of
I-25 on US 34. It serves a large region, including parts of Wyoming, Nebraska,
and the Northern Colorado Front Range.
The campus has two separate and distinct hospitals. On one side is Northern
Colorado Long Term Acute Hospital (NCLTAH), which provides medical care for
patients who
have been discharged from acute care hospitals but still need medical attention.
NCLTAH admits patients, from intensive or critical care departments from
local area hospitals. "We provide 24/7 acute medical care," says Daniel Asadi,
DO, who is the medical director for the hospital. "The patients we care
for are sick enough to be in a hospital for a long period of time because
they have complications or they are transferred to our facility to get the
care
that is adequate for a longer period of time."

It started in October 2007 with a stiff neck and a really bad headache. Her doctor
told her it was simply an ear infection. A few days later, a chiropractor suggested
she might have meningitis. Click

08.28.07 - From the Fort Collins Forum – Two hospitals
in Johnstown are making it easier for patients to receive the care they need
locally. NCRH and NCLTAH offer inpatient treatment to patients who formerly had
to drive to the Denver area for care. Click
