Meet our Leaders
Brenda Simon, OTR/L | Market Chief Executive Officer
Brenda brings more than 20 years of experience and leadership in the healthcare field, specifically Occupational Therapy and administration. She graduated with honors from the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy.
Brenda’s passion for providing the highest quality and most compassionate care is unsurpassed. She has advanced specialized training and is an educator to others on the specific therapies for those persons with neurological disease or injury.
Brenda is an avid skier, hiker, and dedicated runner.
Dr. Gary Pearson | Medical Director
With more than 25 years of experience, Dr. Pearson is dedicated to delivering comprehensive medical care to our hospitalized patients.
Dr. Pearson is board certified in family medicine. He completed a residency and internship in family medicine at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colo. He earned his medical degree from The Ohio State College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio, and earned a bachelor’s degree in zoology from the University of California, Davis in Davis, Calif. Dr. Pearson is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Pearson is fluent in Spanish and is actively involved in medical missions to Haiti, Dominican Republic, and Nicaragua.
When not working, he can be found enjoying time with his wife and five children. He also enjoys road biking, fly fishing, playing tennis, and reading.
Heather Morton, RN, BSN, MHSA | Chief Nursing Officer
Heather brings a variety of different nursing backgrounds to her role here at NCRH including LTACH, Home Health, Hand Surgery, Level II Trauma Center House Supervisor, and Clinic Nurse Manager. She is passionate about patient care and creating a culture of positivity and teamwork within her department.
Heather received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Jacksonville University and has recently graduated with her Masters in Healthcare Administration from the University of Wyoming.
In her free time, Heather enjoys going on cruises, dancing, game nights, and spending time with her husband Jim and daughter Kendyll.
Daniel O’Connell | Director of Pharmacy Operations
Daniel knows the importance of good pharmaceutical management to aid in a patient’s recovery. He thrives in the environment which involves much efficient multi-tasking and extreme quality control.
Daniel earned a doctor of pharmacy degree at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM.
He is a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). When he’s not working, Daniel enjoys traveling, camping, and biking with his family. He is a winter sports enthusiast and avid reader and moviegoer.
Amy Hansen, PT, DPT | Director of Therapy Operations
Amy worked for five years as an inpatient lead therapist at Northern Colorado Rehabilitation Hospital, assisting the hospital in achieving the prestigious designation as the gold standard for stroke rehabilitation in 2013. She then chose to expand her clinical experience providing therapy to patients in their home. Amy has returned home here at NCLTAH in her leadership position.
Amy has a certification that specializes in rehabilitation for patients with stroke and brain injuries (Neuro-IFRAH) and leads a team of specialized therapists providing the highest quality of care to our patients.
Amy’s leadership style exudes passion for the patients and her staff. Amy is a six-year survivor of ovarian cancer, proving to be one of self-determination and strength.
Aside from her career, Amy enjoys traveling, brewery hopping, and attending sporting events with her husband, Andy, and children, Gavin and Danika.
Christina Salas | Director of Marketing and Business Development
Christina possesses more than 15 years of healthcare experience. She earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colo. and a master’s degree in social work from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colo. Christina is passionate about providing quality care to patients of Northern Colorado.
She is a member of the Colorado Hospital Association, National Stroke Association, and Northern Colorado Business Report. She also is involved with Professionals for Seniors, Northern Colorado Health Care Summit, and Sharing the Care Campaign.
Christina enjoys traveling with her family and enjoying the outdoors bike riding and being in her flower gardens.
Sean McCauley | Director of Facilities Management
Sean has been with Northern Colorado Rehabilitation Hospital and Northern Colorado Long Term Acute Hospital for 11 years as the Central Supply Supervisor before transitioning into the Director of Facilities Management position. He had 22 years with the fire service in Northern Colorado and retired from the Milliken Fire Protection District, having served as Fire Captain and Fire Chief.
Sean thrives in bringing value to the organization through his inclusive leadership style focusing on building up and valuing employees.
Sean has earned several National Incident Management certifications including; completing courses in Healthcare Emergency Management at the Department of Homeland Security Center for Domestic Preparedness. Sean was also a Certified Emergency Medical Technician IV / Firefighter during his 22 years in the fire service and a Certified Hazardous Materials Technician and Hazardous Materials Incident Safety Officer.
Sean is an avid homebrewer and craft beer enthusiast. Sean enjoys being in the outdoors, especially the mountains, and enjoying quality time with his family and four daughters.
Becky Kosach | Director of Human Resources
Becky joined our team with 11 years of experience in health care, and 11 years of experience in Human Resources. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at the University of Wyoming. She is a certified professional in Human Resources.
When not working, Becky enjoys a variety of activities, ranging from art, to dance, to bouldering.
Stephanie Drobny, MS-HSL, RN, CPHQ | Director of Compliance
Stephanie began her career as a housekeeper for the elderly. She fell in love with caring for this population, so she obtained her CNA and did private home health hospice care. After a few years, she moved into the acute setting on a busy surgical floor that specialized in bariatric patients. An invitation from an amazing leader led her to leave the bedside and spend the next years in program development while she obtained her BSN.
In the last six years, Stephanie has held nursing leadership positions in Quality, Compliance, Infection Control, Oncology, and Medical-Surgical Services. During that time she also obtained her Masters in Health Systems Leadership, her national certification in Health Care Quality, and her Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. She has also published two articles in national nursing journals as she strives to improve the quality of health care on a broader level.
Stephanie stays busy outside of work with her family consisting of her husband, four children, and two dogs. Her favorite things are to garden, read, take long walks, and snuggle with her kids.
